GET INVOLVED WITH AVP

Where does AVP happen?
AVP can happen in schools, work settings, non-profit agencies, faith communities, community centers, prisons; anywhere there is space and a willingness to host and sponsor such a learning experience.
What is AVP today?
AVP currently has a presence in 33 states, and 45 countries around the world. AVP Florida is working towards offering AVP with many of the 145 FL state prisons. In 2023, 1200 men and women participated with AVP in FL prisons.
What does AVP actually do?
That question has many answers. The core of the AVP model is constant, and the content is adjusted and adapted for each group. Adjustments are based on the number of participants, workshop setting (e.g. prison or community), learning styles, physical mobility, cultures represented, etc. All AVP is offered in groups, and all learning approaches are interactive and experiential. All facilitators and participants are considered both teachers and learners. AVP experiences can be therapeutic but are not therapy. AVP is spiritual but is not based on any one religion; all beliefs and faiths are respected.
All AVP facilitation teams are composed of volunteers, and the participants volunteer to be there as well.
